The buildings core idea is to foster a sense of community by providing a welcoming and inclusive gathering place for sports enthusiasts, families, and friends. The building form and scale has a strong relationship to the sweeping arc of the sporting field and the line of established eucalyptus on the site. The design is thus long and narrow, with a solid masonry backbone, and a meandering roof that echoes the escarpment to the West.
